Birds all over the world use a myriad of strategies to annoy and foil photographers. Here are some of the methods they may use.
- The 2 second rule. Birds know precisely how long it takes for you to press your shutter and will fly off just as you click. They know their reaction times are way quicker than ours!
- They move constantly.
- They hang out in either very dark or very bright places or even better, both at the same time.
- They sit just beyond your focal length.
- They’ll sit on an ugly piece of plant.
- They make sure a twig is covering their eye.
- They strike the perfect pose just as the glaringly bright sun comes out from behind the clouds.
- They do a squirty poo just as you push the shutter.
- They wait until you are eating your lunch and have put down your camera before they make an appearance.
- They refuse to face the camera.
- They make it obvious that they have thwarted the photographers attempts to disguise themselves.
- And many more.
