Hakatere Conservation Park and Mackenzie Country in the winter

Famous for their wide-open landscapes, lakes, and mountain fringed plains, there’s a lot to love about a visit to the South Islands Mackenzie Basins and Hakatere area – especially in the winter when a sprinkle of snow, moody light, and crisp clear air creates ideal conditions for taking photographs. Take a peak at my ‘Winter in the South Island’ gallery – I’ve just uploaded a whole lot of gorgeous new images. Here’s a selection to whet your appetite.
