Miranda in the Firth of Thames is an internationally significant feeding ground for around 40 migratory wading bird species. The foreshore shell banks, ponds and tidal flats are a fantastic place to see large flocks of birds such as wrybill and godwits. I didn’t time my visit their well with the tides, but the sunrises and sunsets were stunning and I hope to return soon to focus (excuse pun) in on some of the birds.
